The Rivanna

Since I live on the Rivanna River (reservoir actually), it has become a popular subject for my painting. This work leans heavily on the use of palette knives to create the rough texture. I’ve used this technique frequently in my “Community Series” paintings and thought I would apply it to one of my favorite subjects…the river.
